Diaphanous (203/366)

I recently came across the word diaphanous in a book I was reading, and remembered how beautiful I thought it sounded when I was studying for the SAT.  I resolved to use it more often.  (Good thing I saw this spiderweb today!)

What's your favourite underused word?

Recalcitrant. Or obsterperous. Or vituperative. None of them pretty sounding or of lovely definition, but I love them nonetheless.

Oooh, "vituperative" is an especially good one!
