I teach a high school class at my church; my students are sweet, smart kids who nevertheless avoid talking in class at all costs. They seem to not only tolerate but actually enjoy the few journal-writing excercises I've asked them to do, though: and so I'm going beyond looseleaf scraps and giving each student his or her very own journal. They are stacked up and ready to go!
